Nominated for MY FIRST three regional Emmy's

It is with great excitement, pride, honor, and humility that I share the news that I've been nominated in three different categories for the 43rd Boston-New England Emmy Awards! One is for the work I do as a Multimedia Journalist (Video Journalist) where I shoot, edit, write, produce and present my own stories, the second is for a piece I did as a reporter that we followed up for three days and that resulted in the suspension of two employees who did not follow protocol and put the safety of two people at risk, and the third is for a story I reported on during a team coverage winter storm.

But to be honest, I feel like I have already won by just being nominated. 

My family immigrated to this country when I was very young, we didn’t have much, but our pockets were full of dreams. Although my father passed away when I was 10 years old, my mother worked very hard to provide food on the table, a warm home, and the support I needed to follow my dreams. 

As far as I can remember I’ve been hustling and bustling to make my dreams come true. From graduating high school at 16 years old, and becoming the first one in my family to go to college, and getting my first TV job— nothing has ever been handed to me. I can’t recall how many times I’ve cried, how many sleepless nights I’ve had, and sacrifices I’ve had to make to be where I am today, all for my love and passion of my profession. 

Please join me in celebrating this great accomplishment that I have long envisioned and always thought could be possible. I’m extremely thankful to God for sending me this blessing, I desperately needed, and for giving me such a supportive family that is always on my sidelines cheering me on in everything that I do. 🙏

¡Es con gran entusiasmo, orgullo, honor y humildad que comparto la noticia de que he sido nominada en tres categorías diferentes para los 43º Premios Emmy Boston-Nueva Inglaterra! Una es por el trabajo que hago como periodista multimedia (periodista de video) donde grabo, edito, escribo, produzco y presento mis propias historias. La segunda es por una pieza que hice como reportera y que le dimos seguimiento durante tres días, la cual resultó en la suspensión de dos empleados que no siguieron el protocolo y que pusieron en riesgo la seguridad de dos personas. La tercera es por una historia que informé durante una tormenta de invierno que realizamos en cobertura de equipo.

Pero si les soy sincera, siento que ya gané con solo ser nominada.

Mi familia emigró a este país cuando yo era muy joven, no teníamos mucho, pero nuestros bolsillos estaban llenos de sueños. Aunque mi padre falleció cuando yo tenía 10 años, mi madre trabajó muy duro para proporcionar comida en la mesa, un hogar cálido y el apoyo que necesitaba para seguir luchando por mis sueños.

Hasta donde puedo recordar, siempre he estado luchando arduamente por hacer realidad mis sueños. Desde graduarme de la escuela secundaria a los 16 años, de convertirme la primera de mi familia en ir a la universidad, hasta obtener mi primer trabajo en televisión— nunca me han entregado nada en la mano. No puedo recordar cuántas veces he llorado, cuántas noches sin dormir he pasado y los sacrificios que he tenido que hacer para estar donde estoy hoy, todo por el amor y pasión a mi profesión.

Acompáñenme a celebrar este gran logro que siempre había imaginado y que constantemente pensé que podría ser posible. Estoy extremadamente agradecida con Dios por enviarme esta bendición, que necesitaba desesperadamente, y por darme una familia tan solidaria que siempre está a mi lado animándome en todo lo que hago.
